Put A Lil Color In It

Hiiiii. I know, I know. I've been a tad MIA lately. That's only because I have finally started to have a social life in Richmond. It's so bad (well actually good) that I only made it to the gym twice last week! My week consisted of working late Wednesday, going to see The Vow Thursday, going to dinner/drinks with my coworkers Friday, heading to the Virginia Wine Expo Saturday & then spending some quality time with SOS. Busy, busy, busy. To say the least, last week was tons of fun (minus that work part) & hopefully this week will be just as awesome. Mostly, I hope I make it to the gym.

Anyway, I decided to be as colorful as possible for the dinner Friday night. Helllllooo citrine blouse & royal skinnies. I initially thought the color was a little much, but it the outfit turned out quite well.

The wine expo was soooo much fun. I got to hangout with some girlfriends I hadn't seen in a while & made some new friends. Below is a pic of all our purchases for the day. Yes, we bought a lot of wine. I only walked away with four bottles & the most amazing wine glass ever. Seriously, it says "Hokie Hottie." Buying it was a no brainer!!

Also, I've ditched my dark vampish nail polish for turquoise. I'm starting to really like color. I even switched from my usual OPI to Essie & I may be in love with it.

Welllll, I need to get back to reality & get some things done... Just in case I have another insanely busy week.

My lovely purchases from the expo. Yes, one's already opened.

5 girls.. We did a little damage.

Also, my birthday is next month. I'm debating whether or not to try Rent the Runway. Have any of you used it? Should I rent an Herve Leger dress for my birthday pressie?!

New: Peebles

A few weekends ago, I mad a little trip to my hometown. While there, I convinced my mom to buy me a few things- Thanks Mom!! We only went to Peebles (link is for those of you who have no clue what Peebles is), but I still managed to get some great pieces.

Tommy Girl Blouse. Obvs I couldn't resist this, it's ruffled chiffon.

I had intentions of wearing this to an interview I had last week, but decided to wear trousers instead.

My wardrobe is comprised of lots of black so I thought this would add some color to it. Can't wait to wear this.

This is so cute. It has a little cutout in the back. I see myself running errands in this little number during the summer months.

Sam & Libby pumps. Who can resist a good comfortable pump?! Not this girl!
What are some of your most recent purchases?!

Quick Post: Navy Plaid

I've had a very long, but fun, weekend & need time to recover since I've got to work tomorrow, ugh. Should I be celebrating President's Day with an extra day away from the office?!

I hate the paint on this mirror!!

New: eyes.lips.face

A few months ago, I think December, I found a deal I couldn't resist. e.l.f. was doing what they call a "Coffee Break." Basically, it's a really good sale available for 3 hours. I didn't need any makeup, but I got all of this for $40. I've used numerous e.l.f. products before & have been relatively satisfied. These palettes are full of eye shadows, lip glosses, blushes, bronzers, eye liners & applicators- all for dirt cheap!!! While, I've only used a few of the eye shadows, I am quite pleased with this purchase. Seriously, I got sooooo much makeup at such a little price. I love a good deal. Now I just need to use this makeup. Found any good shopping deals lately?!

Bloggers Do It Better: Reeeeeed

I was a little excited to learn that the next BDIB challenge was red. These red pants just recently became a part of my wardrobe. I didn't want to standout too much in them, so I paired the pants with a super girly blouse. Obviously I wore the black shoes for photo purposes, but will def pair the two together in the future. I wore the leopard flats with this outfit to run errands in. Yes, I wore red pants to run around town. Never know who I might run into. How do you style your red pieces?!

New: Old Navy

I randomly went into Old Navy a few weeks ago during my lunch break. I didn't have a clue what I was going to buy, but it was payday, so it didn't matter. Like I've said in a previous post, ON has definitely stepped up its game & I couldn't be more happier. In my opinion, this little shopping excursion was successful & I actually plan on going back this weekend to see what else I can find (yes, it's another payday week!!!!).

This blouse is amazing. I've worn it here. It feels really nice & I love the color. It comes in other colors too, so I'll probably end up with s few more of these gems.

It was cold, so I convinced myself I needed sweaters. Good thing I strolled in ON because these just happened to be on sale. I think they were about $8 a piece, which is a steal. I haven't gotten a chance to wear the black one yet, but the tan one is super comfy. I wore it to work & my coworker complimented me on my "lovely sweater."

I workout about 4-5 times a week. Normally, I wear Nike or Adidas running capris/tights, but these are actually very comparable & at a fraction of the price. I'll probably get a pair of tights next time, since I have so many pairs of capris.

Okay, so I finally broke down & jumped on the colored denim bandwagon. I must say, it felt good. I am now obsessed with this trend & plan on getting a pink pair (duh) & blue pair next. The biggest plus about these little reddies?! They were $17!!! So even if I hated them, it didn't matter. Luckily, I love them.
Although I only had a few minutes to shop, I ended up with great pieces. I actually only spent $98 and received a coupon for $20 off my next $40 purchase!! I will without a doubt be heading back to Old Navy. Do you you shop at Old Navy?!

Tangerineeee

I added some color to my outfit last week. It was oddly warm day for February, so I had to take advantage of it. I bought this blouse from Old Navy a few weeks ago (post coming soon about what I got!). I am in love with it. ON has definitely stepped it up a bit since when I was in middle school. The store carries lots of trendy items these days & at affordable prices. Tangerine is the new color for spring, so obvs I had to grab this! I think I'll make another trip soon (esp since there's a store 3 miles from me). Will you be wearing tangerine this spring?!

New: Jason Wu for Target

I was really excited when Target announced it's next designer collaboration back in the fall. For months, I knew Sunday February 5th meant Jason Wu for Target (had no clue until a week ago it was also the Superbowl, oops). Well, long story short, I only managed to snag one piece from the entire 54 piece collection. BUMMER!! I'm actually very content with my purchase & can't wait to wear it (not to work, obviously ugh).

 Blouse: Target

Fortunately, I read today that Target will be replenishing it Jason Wu stock by the end of the week. Obviously I'll be making another trip to my local Target because I want this black pleated skirt.  Were any of you lucky enough to score some pieces?!

One Sad Lonley Photo

It's only February & I am so over 2012. Like it has been the worst year possible & 2013 can't come soon enough. With that said, the worst thing possible happened today: the uniforms for work were delivered!!!! I honestly believe my life is OVER. What's the point of working in an office if I have to wear a uniform?! && an ugly one at that?! Seriously, I can now only wear these heinous shirts with the company name & black pants. I can't even wear skirts. This is ridiculous. I am so appalled at the person who came up with this idea. It's horrible. Obviously I'm ranting because I'm still in shock over this. So, I give you the last outfit post ever to be made at my office. My expression clearly shows how saddened & devastated I am. Hope you enjoy this outfit...

Such a sad, sad day.... I need wine. (Yes, I know I'm being dramatic, but this is life shattering news to a style blogger.)
