Gym Essentials

Hi everyone-

I hope everyone's week has been nothing but great! It's been super busy over on my end- I started a new job, worked out everyday after work, ran errands; never a dull moment.

Today I wanted to share with you a few of the items that make my trips to the gym bearable. First up is cute clothes & shoes. I am a fashion blogger & I won't stop being fashionable just because I'm working out. I love bright neon colors while at the gym. It makes me stand out in a sea of boring black, white & gray. I'm partial to Nike DriFit simply because of the fit & color of the clothing.

Next up, I always take a bottle of water. I know it's bad for the environment, it's just easier for me to grab a bottle & go. My two favorite brands are SmartWater & Dasani. Yes, water does taste differently, & these two don't leave me wishing I was drinking something else & they're refreshing.

Lastly, I can't forget my FDS Cleaning Clothes. I absolutely hate leaving the gym drenched in sweat. These wipes have a nice fresh scent & make me feel oh so clean when I'm obviously, errrr well, not. They come in cute little pouches & can discretely be tucked away in my gym bag. They're great!

Now that you know a few of my gym essentials, I'd like you to share yours!

Happy Weekend!!

New: JCP & TJ Maxx

Hi everyone-

About a month ago, my mom came to visit. Aside from running a few errands, we also did a little shopping. I wanted to share with you what I got.

At JCP, I got a lovely cashmere sweater, a navy knit blazer & a pair of jeans. I'm becoming such a huge fan of JCP. The price point is just right & the quality is good. It also doesn't hurt that most have a Sephora located inside.

After leaving JCP, we headed to Tj Maxx. There, I grabbed a plaid scarf & a paid of Cole Haan sunglasses. All-in-all, I'd say this was a successful shopping trip.

Bought anything new recently?!

OOTD: Thanksgiving

Hey all-

How crazy is this weather?! It's been hot & cold all week long & I'm a little tired of it. Mother Nature, make up your mind!

I wore this outfit last week on Thanksgiving Day. This year, my family & I didn't do the traditional TDay gathering & opted for something a little more mundane. My mom & I traveled to Maryland to visit my younger brother. It was nice to get out of Richmond for a few days. It was also nice not having to worry about blowing my diet on one big meal. We had a casual dinner at a TGIFriday's by his house. Then braved the crazies at the mall when it opened at 8pm.

How was your holiday & what did you do?!

Outfit Details
Shirt & Jeans: The Limited
Vest: Francesca's Collections
Sunnies: Cole Haan
Bracelet: Derng

Thanks for reading & have a good weekend!

Review: Rose VoxBox from Influenster

Hi everyone-

About a month ago, I received the Rose VoxBox from Influenster to test a few products. This box was of full of goodies I couldn't wait to try.

My absolute favorite is the Rimmel London Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara ($5.99). This mascara is perfect if you're looking to create a thick, full, wide-eyed looked! Lots of volume, which I love, without the clumps. I've used it everyday since I took it out of the package. If you're looking for volume, give this a try!

I normally do not eat chocolate, but I was anxious to try Lindt LINDOR Milk Chocolate Truffles ($3.99 for a 5.1oz bag). True to the description, these truffles are smooth, luscious, & melts in your month. I'm a little sad the sample was only one, I could've eaten a few more. SO good!

If you're looking for a good, healthy & quick breakfast, belVita crunch Breakfast Biscuits ($3.69 for a box of 5 packets) are perfect! Each packet contains 4 whole grain biscuits. These are an excellent source of fiber & B-vitamins, which will keep you energized all morning. The biscuits are good alone; however, I recommend eating them with vanilla yogurt like I did- great for dipping.

The box also contained Dr. Scholl's For Her Cozy Cushions ($12.49) & Kiss Gradation Polishes ($6.99). I have not gotten a chance to use these, mainly because it's been too hot for the cushions & I've been too busy to sit down & try out the polishes. I've tried products from both brands before & do not doubt these will disappoint.

Which of these items are you going to try?!

I received these products complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster. As always, all opinions are my own.

Wednesday Wish List: Christmas

Hi everyone-

Can you believe it's already December?! I've been spending a lot of timing thinking about ways to recreate, reinvent, redo my blog. So this year, instead of wishing for the latest handbag or must-have boots, I've got my eyes set on things that will improve Shoes & Champagne.

1. Blog Makeover: I want to rebrand Shoes & Champagne- blog name, design, logo. I've researched a lot of different companies to use & it's rather expensive. I truly think this will help me to expand my brand & reach the audience I want. S&C is like a business & I'd like to start treating it as such.

2. Tripod: I don't have enough fingers & toes to count how many times I haven't taken outfit pictures because I simply had no one to play photographer. To ensure I post regular OOTD posts, a tripod is the only way.

3. DSLR: I think it's time to upgrade to a better camera. A fancy little number with different lenses & filters. My photo quality isn't that great & I would really like to showcase my outfits in the best way possible. I don't have a preference yet as to which brand to buy, but I am a die hard Nikon fan!

4. PhotoShop: Photo editing software. Enough said.

5. Blogging Class: A few months ago, I came across a company who offers online blogging classes. I would love to be able to take a few of these & really jump into the business of blogging.

The final item on my wish list is very important to me- fitness. I've been trying to figure out different ways to get a good workout. From the elliptical, treadmill, weights, cycling, I've tried it all. I'd like memberships to try different classes. I'm very much into cycling (see my post on my favorite studio here) & I'd like to try Bikram yoga & barre classes. Everyday trips to Gold's & hopping on the elliptical for an hour just isn't cutting it for me anymore. I want to try more!

If you can offer any assistance on who to use for my blog makeover or any of the other things on my wish list, please share! What's on your Christmas wish list?!

Review: Studio Gear Holiday Smokey Eye Palette

Hi everyone-

For the longest time, I've been trying to perfect the smokey eye. I normally use too dark of a color (aka black ) & wind up looking like a raccoon or I use too light of a color or I can't find colors that complement one another- the list goes on & on...

...Until now, the lovely people over at Studio Gear sent me their Holiday Smokey Eye Palette. This palette is complete with not only 4 eye shadows, but also a complimentary blush. It takes the guest work out of finding the right colors. As if this palette couldn't get any better, inside is a list of instructions on which colors to use & where to use them on your lids. You can't go wrong! Even better, the pigmentation of the shades is fantastic. The shadows & blush are true to color & stay put for a good amount of time. I'll post a pic of the swatches on Instagram, so make sure you follow me (@ShoesChampagne).

This palette would make an excellent gift for anyone on your holiday list, especially that friend or family member who is a beauty guru at heart. For a limited time, the palette is on sale for $25, so head over to Studio Gear to purchase it! If you miss the sale, don't worry, SG is offering all Shoes & Champagne readers a 10% discount with code SGHOLIDAY. The code does not expire & is good for 10% off  your entire order on www.studiogearcosmetics.com.

I know you'll love this palette just as much as me. Let me know if you purchase it & don't forget the discount code!
